Book Review

Hi, I'm Takahiro.
Today, I introduce two books to you.



First, I want to tell about "Stories of Courage".
The book is LEVEL 3 of penguin readers and consists of eight true stories.
The most impressing story was about Chico Mendez, a Brazilian.
He was angry at people who made use of Amazon rainforests and made new farms to make their money.
This was why he fought with them and had much efforts to protect the rainforests.
His actions inspired citizens and succeeded changing a part of Brazilian raw--people had to stop clearing the forest in some areas.
However, in 1988, he was killed by someone who was thought as an important man in Brazilian government and business. I want many people in the world to know the fact and to think about the world.

Another book is entiled " DEATH OF AN ENGLISHMAN".
This is LEVEL4 of Oxford Bookworms library.
The place of the story is in Florence, Italy and an Englishman is dead there.
The book describes two police offers, who tries to find who shot him or why the incident happened.
I think the book gave me the thought of the difficulty of policeman.

Since I wasn't accustomed to reading this type of books, it is hard for me to understand the book compelely. So, I will spend my time on reading this type of book!!

Tokyo Marathon

Hi, I'm Takahiro .

Yesterday, I watched TOKYO MARATHON on TV.

Ten thousands of people, including some professional runners took part in the race!!
Many of them seemed to enjoy running!!



What was the most interesting in for me was whether who won the race,
especially the part of men because the race is the selection for World Athletics held in Berlin this summer!!

I cheered on some runners who have run in the Hakone ekiden, but their running were not better than I expected... . However, they were very cool !!!


In additon, Matsumura Kunihiro, a Japanese comedian fell into stopping his lung and heart on the way, which was disappointed... and made me think about the difficulty of running.

In the last, this week has some important games-WBC and Soccer Worldcup qualification and so on.
I wish both Japan teams will win.

New Zealand!!

Hello again, this is Kasumi.
Here are some of my friends. 2 weeks was too short to learn English and visit to lots of places. My school has lots of students from all over the world, such as Argentine, Chilean, South African, French, German and Asian. My roommate was from China who was really nice and lovely girl. We went to see a movie "Confession of a shopaholic". NZ dollar is half price of Yen now, so I went shopping like the movie... That's amazing!
Anyway, my trip to New Zealand was very exciting and I'd like to visit there again!! I hope I can visit to my friends, too!!

New Zealand!!

Hi, everyone. I'm Kasumi from edc2.
From 7th of March to 21th, I visited to New Zealand to learn English by myself.
I've stayed there only 2 weeks though, I had really enjoyable and wonderful time.
This time, I stayed at my hostfamily's house with a student who has been learning English at same international language school. Before I went there, I searched some ILS information and found this school.
Anyway, my school is located in Auckland which is also big city as well as Wellington.
Why I chose here is because the weather is very comfortable and what is more, I'd like to visit here once. As I expected, the city was really nice and the people, too.
Most of people image New Zealand like countryside, even though it's not true. Acutually, Auckland is not such countryside.
When I visited to Coromandel where has a large number of natures, I was surprised because of the different scenery from Auckland. I attended to a activity with my friend to go there.
I think lots of you don't know Coromandel, so let me explain.
Coromandel is located a little bit far from Auckland. It takes for 3 hours to go there. Once you enter the place, you can see sheep, hourses, cows and a broad of hill. The most famous places are hot spring which is along Pacific ocean and Cathedral Cove. You can enjoy in the hot water and swimming in the sea!!

Rainy day

Hello, I'm Yukino, EDC2 student.

It is rainy today and cold but it is getting warmer and warmer recently.

I had lunch outside weith my friends the day before yesterday.

SUAC have wonderful roof in the 6th floor.There are small and big chair. But we had lunch in the 4th floor. SUAC have roofs not only 6th floor but also 4th floor.

That is small space and there have a loot of greenery. I didn't know there but I liked the space. I want to had lunch there again.

Graduation ceremony

Hi, I'm Yukino.


Graduation ceremony was held at SUAC auditorium on this Wednesday.





I write a message on a stuffed toy to a 4 grade student with my friends. The stuffed toy is white because it is sold to write messages.

Then SUAC Wind Ensemble played music, "TOURANDOD" and " Pomp and Circumstance". We lined on steps and played when graduates left from auditorium.

Graduate girls wore many colors "hakama". They are very beautiful.

I will graduate from SUAC after two years. Two years is long but I think that time will go on soon. So I want to enjoy university life.

Irago-misaki!

Hi everyone!

I'm Rika from EDC3!

Last weekend, I went to Irago-misaki and rape blossoms garden with my friend.

I never seen those before, so I was really excited to go there!

Irago-misaki was awesome!

I have seen Enshunada many times, but Irago-misaki is more beautiful than Enshunada.

We walked little bit around the sea. It was great!

I went to rape blossoms garden, too!

It was near Irago-misaki, so we went there on the our way home.

There ware many rape blossoms in garden.

I never seen such a big rape blossoms garden before, so I took many pictures!

My friend and I had a really good time!

Why don't you go there and get relax!

Spring is coming!

Hi, everyone. I'm Yumika from EDC2. Spring is coming!! but still cold. How is your spring vacation? I'm really enjoying the vacation, but I'm dying because of hay fever:-(. So, I have to take medicine everyday... I hate hay fever!
Except for hay fever. My spring vacation is fabulous:-). I went to Hamamatsu castle park with my old friends. We met a old man and his dog at there. We talked almost one hour with him and he was a really nice person. Also, his dog is beautiful and clever. It was really nice meeting.

I want to go there again when cherry trees are in full bloom. Maybe the Ohanami season is the end of March I think. I'm looking forward to seeing them.

I will go to Fuji on March 25th with my friends. I'm so excited and I can't wait!

Soup Party

Hello. This is Soichi from EDC 2.
I am a member of film making club. Last night, I held a soup party with club members. 4 students are graduating. That’s sad. But we enjoyed very much. We ate oyster, noodle, cabbage, leek, chicken, Godiva chocolate and Pastel pudding. Food was beautiful!
We talked about the plans after graduation. 3 students are doing office work. One student is studying about film.
Now, I have to think about my future. It is time for job hunting.

Snowboarding

Hi everyone. This is Ryuji from EDC2. How is your spring break? I am doing really well. I went to snowborading with Mrs. Mizoguchi and many other suac students on February 27th and 28th. It was really fun. Look at the pictures. Isn't it beautiful?? It was really nice weather and snow. We were so luckey because we could enjoy both day with really mice condition. We stayed at the hotel by the skiing groung and had a little party at night. The trip was really fun and I want to go to there again.

Australia2

Hi, again. I'm Yumika. Let me talk about more about Australia.
Next is Sydney. In Sydney, I stayed a interesting hostel. The hostel was painted everywhere. It was really interesting. After that, I stayed at 2 different family place. They were really nice.
Also, I met friends in 5 years! She is a designer and she gave me some jewelry that she made. She showed around the city for us.
We went to aquarium and Sydney tower and of course we went shopping!! I had really nice time with my friends.
Also, I had a great time with my host family.We went beautiful beach. There are lots of people there. I the dinner time, We went to really nice restaurant and I ate a delicious oyster, stake and desert. We played with host children. They are really cute and energetic!


I had really great experience in Australia and I want to go there again!!!

AUSTRALIA 1

Hi, Everyone! I'm Yumika from EDC2. How is your spring vacation?
My spring vacation is really nice so far. I went to Australia for 2 weeks to see my friend. It was really exciting and so much fun. I went to Canberra and Sydney.

In Canberra, I stayed at my friend's place. My friend and his family was really nice and kind. Canberra is the capital of Australia and so beautiful place. I visited the Parliament and High court of Australia. They were nice.
Also, I looked around my friend's university with my friend. It was so huge and cool!

In the afternoon, I could see kangaroos near my friend's house. I was so impressed. They are so cute. I could see many animals and birds everywhere.
In the night, I went to a bar. It was really nice place. I met a lot of people and many small band played there.

I met lots of really nice people and I had great time with them.

Disney Land

Hi, everyone.

I'm Natsuki from EDC2.

I went to Tokyo Disney Land with my friend on February 23.

It rained the day, so I felt really cold.

We tried a lot of rides. For example, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean. These are so interesting things for me. My most favorite ride is Space Mountain, so we tried it two times.

Disney Resort have many souvenir and they are so cute. I bought many things for my family and friends.

I had a good time and I want to go there again.
