Hi, this is Hitomii from EDC 3.

How's it going? I feel many classes are interesting, so I've never slept in class this semester:D I really concentrate on classes! plz forget that i didn't bring my homework for Mr. Pals's class.

Swine flu is known all over the world. Some countries are effected. You know, Mexico is the worst. Unfortunately, many ppl killed by swine flu. We should wash our hands and gargle after coming home. Take care of yourselves!

Do u why swine flu is named "swine flu?" I wonder "pig flu" is easy... Or it means some animal which related with pig will also effect us? There are some different nuance between English and Japanese :(

A cherry blossom-viewing party

Hi everyone! This is Miori.
Today was terrible day... wasn't it? So heavy rain!! Did you stay dry?

However, the day when I joined the BBQ party under the cherry blossoms was nice day!!

It was little bit cold, but cherry blossoms were really beautiful. I felt that spring is coming.

But... I wonder that everyone looked blossoms? Most people did their best to eat and drink!

i read "Persepolice-the story of a childhood".
this story is about young gril in Iran and Islamic Revolution.this is autobiography.

Marjane Satrapi was a very powerful gril in Iran. she had led very happy life. there were not many strict islamic rules. she had gone to international school and there had been boys and grils in the school. however, Islamic Revolution changed her life. International school was closed and a lot of islamic rules appeared. she tried to do what she want to but Islamic rules and people in Iran did not allow it. Finally she dicieted to go to France.

i enjoyed reading Persepolis not only as novel but also as textbook about Isamic Revolution in Iran. there are a lot of infomation about Islamic Revolution and modern Iran history in this book. Persepolice has three other series. Please try to read the other series too.

Hi, this is Hitomii.

I read a book named "About a Boy" in this vacation. This story's theme is love. There are many kinds of love, I think. For instance, romance and family love.
Will is a single man, and he doesn't want to have any responsibilities. He had never worked even though he is thirty-six years old. His father left royalties for Will, so that's why Will can live without having a job.
One day, he met a good-looking woman, Angie. He wanted to go out with her, but she is a single mother. They went out for half a year, however, they broke up. Will wanted to meet single mothers, so he visited a group called SPAT (Single Parents - Alone Together). He pretended to have a son.
Will met Marcus there. Marcus is 12 years old, and his mother has some big problems. Fiona, Marcus's mother, tried to kill herself. She got better, but Marcus concerend about his mother more than before.
Marcus ditected a lie which Will made in order to join SPAT. At first, Will and Marcus weren't good friends, but they got friendly gradually. However, Fiona became sick again. Marcus asked Will to help her, but Will's answer was not good.

You can also watch this story. I haven't watched movie, so I'll try it. I hope you guys will enjoy this story :)

I did with my boyfriend lastweek. The weather was great!
we had good time seeing the flowers.

BUT!! do you know the saying "pudding rather than praise" ?
ofcorse I enjoyed some food too** we had some dumplings made with cherry blossom.

Hello world!! I'm Tomomi from EDC3(2?).
I'd like to tell you about my spring break.
I went to Guam with my mom for 8 days. We stayed at a hotel located at little bit far from the main street because we went to Guam to get relaxed!!

I reallllly enjoyed staying there. Everyday I swam in the sea.
This is a secret but I got sun tanned and my hip is like I am always wearing swim suites.

anyway, I love Guam!!!!!!!!!!

book book

Hi! This is Tomomi. For spring homework, I read “the mosquito coast”.

This story is about a man and his family.
Allie was a clever, independent man. There was nothing that he cannot make or fix. Moreover, all he says and all his opinion were quite right.
Because Allie was out of patience with bonds in America, he decided to move into a jungle to get a freedom.
As you can predict, the life in a jungle was not so easy. Gradually he turns into strange…

At first, I thought just “oh what a troublesome dad he is …” but after I finished reading this book, I realized there are more things that I have to think about; how surroundings change us, how easy human’s heart break, how easy to lose trusts.

This story is not happy or funny. However, this story makes me be reflected.
I recommend you to read this book. I am sure that this story is deeper than you expect.

Kyoto!!

Hi, everyone. I'm Kasumi from EDC3.
Last week, I went to Kyoto with Natsumi for a day.The main event was Miyako-odori that Maiko and Geiko performanced very well. I was really impressed by their high educated performances. What is more, Cherry blossomes at Maruyama Park nearby Yasaka-shrine was amazingly beautiful!!! I saw the scenery in the daylight, though I guess it shows us a different face in night time.

By the way, there is my favorite temple called Kodai-temple which was build for Hideyoshi Toyotomi. His wife Nene had lived here and I think she was a very modesty woman because of the atmosphere of this temple. There is a big cherry blossom in the garden in the middle of this temple.

This was first time to go to Kyoto in spring. Kyoto is very exciting place whenever I visit!!!

During spring vacation, I read "Four Weddings and a Funeral"!

This film was made in 1993 and very popular.

This is a story about love.

Charles (main character) finds what is love and who is his lover when he goes to many wedding parties.

He is unmarried man, but he has had a lot of different girlfriends.

Charles doesn't really fall in love any of them.

This is very finny story, but there is sadness too in this.

Charles's friend dies suddenly.

Charles get shock and he is also teached by this.

"Four weddings and a Funeral" is a story about Charles, but also his friends story.

His friends finds their girlfriend or boyfriend in wedding parties.

I think this story is also teaches wedding is not only the way we get happiness.

OH NO!!

Hello. This is Miharu.
Today I surprised about Rika’s mail.
The mail’s details are “we have some homework in EDC.”

“OH MY GOSH!!”

Why I missed to catch this very important information!!
I want to cry about my listening ability.
BUT!! I will never give up!! I decide to try hard to the end!!
Then I remembered that yesterday’s promise of my friend who has same part time job with me.

Friend : “Please work Sunday instead of me because I have some homework.”
Me : “O.K. I will do for you.”

HOW kind am I!! (…although I have homework too.)
So I did part time job. Good job! And now is 22:13. I have to submit before 0:00.
I will write 2 kinds of diary “travel to Paris” and “travel to Hawaii.”

WOMEN IN BUSINESS

"WOMEN IN BUSINESS" is a book I read during this vacation which introduces 5 famous women in business around the world. I really enjoyed reading this book because they are/were made hopes for every women in the field. One of them, Anita Roddick, who is also such a nice woman, founded a store named The Body Shop which sells body creams, body soapes, perfumes and cosmetic items.

Anita thinks that business is not about making money. Actually, she shows people that business can help to make the world a better place. She changed the cosmetic industry. Her concept of opening a shop was to sell a good product and offer a good service. As she said, she made natural products which was cheaper than the products that any other cosmetic companies made.

Anita's concept is not only selling natural products, but also helping the earth. She started working as a group Greenpeace to stop companies putting waste and poisons into the sea in 1985. In addition, Anita made a business with Kayapo in Brazil to product oil and sell it for cosmetic.

Her business has been getting growth now because of the needs of customers. You can see lots of The Body Shop in large cities in Japan and the other countries. I think Anita is a new person who think a way to help both nature and women, and she made another way for women to live in business.
